i do see that this is a remix, i have yet to listen to the original but this version sounds good!

the chords in the beginning are really cool, and the vocals sound very well processed. the other instrumentation in the non-drop parts were chosen well! the sound design is generally well done.

of course, for me, the bass in the first half of the drop seems a bit messy? like it's not quantized or playing weird tuplets? and the second half seems a bit empty, with just drums and vocals and an intermittent melody. the second drop seems the same way. the master also does sound a bit overcompressed, and the vocals don't seem to pop out as much as they should

but overall, this is nice to listen to, despite not really being my style

LLCALIREP responds:

Thank you for taking your time and actually give me feedback! 🙏

this is quite nice, though one overall criticism i have is that it feels a bit... jilted? not really flowy and organic. maybe it could be due to the mixing, reverb (or lack thereof), or the choice of sounds and samples (especially the fact that some of them end too early without any reverb tails).

but some aspects are done really well! the recurring piano melody is pretty (though some variation would have been cool), the snare in the latter half was chosen well (though definitely a bit quiet), and the synth bass in the beginning has a lot of nice width! the composition is nothing special, but it's still emotionally rewarding imo

overall, i'd work on making everything "fit together" more. you can try compression on busses/the master, using reverb, or possibly making most/all of the sounds yourself. varying up the elements is a good idea as well. but this is still a good song nonetheless!

Dynamic0 responds:

Thank you for review!

I'll try to make more mastering or some variations/details in future. And own sounds.

hey, that's the name of one of my older songs!

but quite good :) the busy idm-esque section in the middle is really cool

nexketch responds:

hell yeah thank bro

trance rap? cool idea. maybe this kick isn't hard enough for my taste, but that's about it... the progression is very plantive and the fills sound really good!

VintixVenus responds:

I appreciate the feedback, thank you for listening!

aw come on, i'm sure sunvox can do color bass

granted idk what color bass is, but i think it'd be possible

OVERSCORE responds:

I’m sure SunVox can do color bass

I just don’t have enough technical skill to do it yet…

legendary. like cacola said, no amount of prog rock wankery will ever come close to this song (and this isn't even rock!)

with that said, a cover of this song played with physical instruments would be sweet, anyone dare to try that?

also please shut up about geometry dash, learn to appreciate music as it is, thanks

it almost goes full big beat at around 3:14 and i love it, wish you could expand on that more

the dynamics of the piano line are really cool too

Arponax responds:

I wanted to make the last part somewhat unique...by making it halftime or some different kind of beat than at 3:14

But in the end the four on floor felt the easiest and most enjoyable i guess. (maybe i was just lazy i dunno XD)

the piano feels very robotic and plastic, it really needs some humanization and velocity variation (and reverb). i can also hear clipping when the drums come in, probably because of the lack of sidechaining or a limiter. i'm not familiar with the original song's composition but i feel like this could use a proper outro (or at least a fade out).

but aside from these, not bad!

nurdPi responds:

I actually do have a version that faded out however I was sorta torn between the two versions as I didn't know which one I preferred.

surprisingly calm and plaintive considering the conditions, though with those diminished arps after the beginning it does kind of show that side. love me some lowpass filter action

i really love the distortion(?) on some of the elements, and those nature sounds at the end really sell the vibe

well done!
